WEARING ALL WHITE
Now that we are officially beyond Memorial Day, the unspoken rule of thumb is that you can wear white. Although this is somewhat outdated, it does actually seem to be the norm in terms of what we’ve been seeing within the past few weeks among style bloggers across the world.
Wearing white after Memorial Day is one thing, but what about wearing it from head to toe. Not just for cheesy “white parties”, this look is incredibly chic and easy to pull off. The monochrome color trend has also been around for a while, but wearing all white with a pop of color in your accessories looks effortlessly chic and modern.
Whether dressed up or casual, wearing white definitely makes a statement. From an overalls and a white blouse look, to a feminine lace dress, or a crop top and pencil skirt, wearing all white is such a simple way to step up your spring/summer look.
Here are some street style shots that show a variety of looks around the world.
5 ways to wear the off-the-shoulder trend
Off-the-shoulder tops have recently been seen across the world among the most stylish of bloggers. Originally a huge trend in the late 90’s, the off-the-shoulder trend was usually adorned with a ruffle type of neckline and scrunched sleeves. Now as a more modern piece for spring 2015, this simple yet sexy trend brings back the erogenous zone of the collar bone and shoulder. Whether the look is more structured and classic, or sexy and sophisticated, this piece is a great addition for the Spring/Summer season.
Below are five fashion bloggers around the world showing us how to pull off this trend in a modern way. Depending on their location and weather, this trend is globally chic.
90’S DENIM TRENDS for spring 2015
Lately it seems that 90’s fashion trends are popping up all over the place. Yes we know that trends technically just repeat themselves over and over, but the silhouette and way the garment is styled differentiates the way we interpret these trends 25 years later.
Focusing specifically on Denim from the 90’s seems to be a huge trend for Spring ’15. For the past few spring seasons we’ve seen the denim or chambray shirt make a huge comeback and denim-on-denim has been seen everywhere, but what about Overalls, Skirts, and Vests?
Who can forget the biggest 90’s trend ever…Overalls!
Typically worn with a long sleeve or form fitting top, the pants silhouette is somewhat different than the 90’s baggy version. As you can see from below, the trend here is a bit more tailored and pulled together in which many have been seen accessorizing with pointy-toe flats, loafers, or even stiletto sandals.
Denim vests look great paired with dresses or long skirts and is a great piece that adds layering without too much weight for warmer weather. Compared to the 90’s styling of pairing with mom jeans or a baby doll dress, the modern take on the denim vest ranges from a more feminine look with a simple spring dress or a more street inspired look paired with cropped or jogger pants.
Finally the denim skirt is back in a big way for Spring ’15. The last time we saw this trend was in the late 90’s early 2000’s, but the length was mini and the waist was low, extremely low. Who can forget the low slung denim skirt with chunky chain belt and crop top look. Thank goodness the modern take on this piece is classy even if the skirt is ripped, distressed or a micro-mini.
GLOBAL TREND ALERT: TRENCH VEST
From Romania, to Spain, to the U.S., the trench vest is one of those pieces that has slowly grown as a staple item for a few seasons now. Many style bloggers have been seen wearing this unique item because it adds an extra something to any normal or simple outfit.
Going back to the menswear trend from a few years ago, the vest has evolved into a masculine yet feminine piece that can be worn many different ways. From sporty chic, to office appropriate, below are some ways a few fashion bloggers around the world have been seen wearing the trend. Usually worn a bit longer with a structured construction and thicker fabric, it’s a great way to add an extra layer and interest without a lot of weight.
We have definitely seen the look during the fall season, but it’s nice to see that this trend is carrying forward into spring. This is the best type of garment in our opinion..more bang for your buck!

EAST COAST VS WEST COAST: SPRING STYLE
Living in New York City is such an amazing place to call home. From the culture, to the fashion and food; you name it, NYC has it all. However, when it comes to the weather, the west coast seems to be the winner. During the long winter months, New Yorkers suddenly begin to feel the cons outweighing the pros. Being that it is officially mid-March and the daily forecast has barely hit 40 degrees can be quite depressing. While others across the country are delving into their new spring purchases, New Yorkers are still wearing their winter albeit lighter winter coats. Meanwhile on the west coast, people are “suffering” from 80 degree weather and complaining that it’s simply “too hot” for this time of year. Let’s explore some spring looks from coast to coast no matter what the thermostat reads.
WEST COAST: This 24-year old blogger and stylist from San Francisco knows how to show just a bit of skin with her cropped sweater while layering on this light-weight pink trench coat, perfect for the always somewhat chilly bay area.
WEST COAST: Michelle, a designer from Los Angeles shows us that a spring dress doesn’t have to be floral to be feminine. The windowpane printed shirt dress is accessorized perfectly with booties and hat for the transitional weather.
EAST COAST: Sasa, a blogger from www.shallwesasa.com may still be a bit cold with the chilly New York weather, but her pink on pink outfit is on trend with heavy fabrics in a tone on tone spring pastel.
EAST COAST: 29 year old blogger from New York knows the importance of layering, however by doing so in lighter colors her look is bright and refreshing compared to the black on black uniform of most New Yorkers.
WEST COAST: Blogger Jenny Tsang of www.tsangtastic.com shows us that winter leggings paired with heels and a basic white sweater are the perfect trans-seasonal mix. Her bright blue cross body bag add just the right amount of pop to an otherwise basic ensemble.
EAST COAST: Blogger Helena Hodne of www.brooklynblonde.com shows us that style does not have to suffer in the frigid 42 degrees in Brooklyn, NY. This perfect outfit of head to toe grey, complete with Gucci bag is simple, (somewhat) warm, and chic all at once.
